This is a course I wish I had taken before any of my children had entered adolescence. Whether you have pre-adolescent children or if you're in the thick of teenage hood, this course is meant to prepare and support you. I'd say it's most relevant for parents of children aged 8 to 18, but of course if your kids are a bit younger than that, you will still learn heaps. In fact, feedback from the first course tells me that parents of younger kids were happy they signed up for the course!
The materials I will share each week are yours to keep and reference whenever you like. You don't have to read or watch each week if you don't have time. It's completely up to you how engaged you want to be in the Instagram discussions. I'd say, if you want to read the PDF, watch all the videos and engage with the community each week, you'd need around 3-4 hours per week.
All of the materials will be uploaded to my website and shared each week on the Monday morning. You will be able to log in and access the content whenever you have the time.
Yes! You will be charged in your local currency at the current exchange rate. If you are confused how much $250 AUD equals in your currency, you can use a website like www.xe.com to show you the conversion.
I spent a long time pondering that very question. I am not a scientist or psychologist or a child development specialist. In truth, I see my role in this course as a facilitator rather than a teacher. I’m passionate about this topic and have spent a long time researching it. I have called upon my training in journalism to find the right sources, ask the right questions and assimilate the information in a way that is accurate and useful to other parents. While I share some of my experiences and opinions in the course, the focus is on what the experts and research tell us about parenting tweens and teens. I do not have all of the answers. There are parents out there dealing with challenges that I cannot even fathom, let along solve. I can only assure you that all of the information in this course is useful and will be beneficial to your relationship with the tweens and teens in your life.
